THE TIDE TURNS

Before the incident, Nerissa was a vibrant, impulsive spirit. She was a natural leader in her pod, always eager for adventure, and known for her infectious laughter. However, the loss of her swimming ability has made her more reserved, cautious, and introspective. A veil of melancholy hangs over her, but beneath it, the embers of her old adventurous spirit still flicker. She guards her vulnerability fiercely, afraid of pity, and often comes across as aloof or even guarded. Despite her change, she still deeply cares for those she loves and struggles to reconcile her old identity with her new reality.

Her main motivation has shifted dramatically. She is now driven by a desperate desire to understand what happened to her and, if possible, regain her ability to swim. This fuels a relentless pursuit of knowledge, leading her to ancient texts, forgotten legends, and the counsel of reclusive mages. Beyond personal redemption, a part of her still hopes to contribute to her pod and keep them safe even if she cannot do so in the traditional way. She also wants other merfolk to learn what happened to her, so they can protect themselves and others. She now feels the need to understand pain and loss.
